REALITY EXISTS IN THE HUMAN MIND NOWHERE ELSE
Reality exists in the human mind nowhere else. George Orwell said this in his book “1984”. Reality is how things are, not how you think they are. As human beings, we create reality by using our senses and thoughts to perceive the world around us. In other words, reality exists within your mind; we can only change it by altering our perception. It’s easiest to understand reality by looking at how each person perceives it. For example, if you’re walking down a hallway and someone walks into you from behind, you’ll probably feel him bumping into you. That is because your brain has translated what it’s sensing into something like an impact — which makes sense. After all, physical contact has occurred. But if the same thing happens on a different day, when you stand in front of a mirror instead of walking down a hall, you might not notice anything. That’s because your brain has translated what it senses into something like seeing someone suddenly appear behind you — which makes no sense!
Reality exists in the human mind nowhere else, which is true. Still, it’s also important to note that reality is not necessarily what you perceive or what others perceive as reality. Reality is defined by those in power and controlling people’s perceptions. Reality is what they decide it to be, and it can change at any moment for political reasons. There is only one place where you can physically find reality: inside your head. Everything else around you is an illusion, and most of it gets created by your senses, which only experience a small portion of reality. Even when you look at things with your eyes, many things are happening in your brain that the naked eye cannot see. There is no way to know what reality looks like without being there to see it firsthand, so all we have to go by are our senses and other people’s experiences. That means that no matter how sure you are that something is true, if someone else sees it differently, it isn’t real. It’s their perception of reality that matters most, not yours. How humans perceive reality has changed throughout history and continues to evolve today. Just because something is accepted as “real” today doesn’t mean it always was.
We must realise that life is a game. It is a mirror reflecting your inner world of feelings and thoughts, and you can’t alter the reflection in the mirror. You can only transform yourself, and the reflection will change. But multitudes go in the opposite direction. They look at the reflection they hate it and try to force the mirror, jerk it, break it and try to manipulate it into their desired reality. But that is pointless. That is why people trying to lose weight frequently fail because they are coercing the reflection to change rather than deciding to be a healthy and slim version of themselves in their minds. The same goes for people in debt. They can’t seem to get out of it. The mirror principle is described in the book called “Reality Transurfing” by Vadim Zeland, which proposes that life is pushed out, and this is also the famous statement of Neville Goddard. In essence, life is good; it is just like virtual reality. When someone has never even heard of virtual reality when they try it, they get starstruck and are instantly engrossed in the virtual world. It seems indiscernible from the real world, which is valid with the masses. They are lost in the game, believing it is real. They are forcing and pushing and hustling, but most of the time, in vain. So what is the point, you ask? The fact is to make you realise that you are taking a gateway too seriously. Would you lose your temper? If your character perished in a game or you lost a level? Maybe some of us will, but we will cool off quickly by recalling that it is just a game, so when something unpleasant happens to you in your life, the number one thing you ought to do is to remind yourself it is just a game. Then remind yourself that if you affix a positive connotation to this event or do not react to it negatively, then this unfortunate event will evaporate into void, or it will branch out to a positive circumstance, making your life way better. Instantly taking power away from the outer world and placing all the power in the palm of your hands. Making you realise that you are picking your desired reality. And that the toxic event was just a wake-up call for you to put your life’s path in the desired direction. Another profound doctrine that monks and spiritual practitioners preach is that this life is inherently neutral. You are tying positive and negative connotations to events, thus charging the events with emotions that are either in the negative or positive timeline, which is not to say that you cannot briefly get caught up in someone else’s negative timeline. But if you are open-eyed to the truth and figure out that this is all just a game, you will immediately take your power back and prefer not to react so that you will be free from their negative timeline. Hence, Eckhart Tolle’s book, The Power of Now,
declares that there is no problem when you focus intensively on the now. There is nothing terrible. Everything is just being and flowing. There is enormous bliss and stillness in not reacting to anything and just allowing everything to be because unfavourable events only persist because of our undivided attention to them. We consistently energise them with so much harmful emotion, so they linger and grow. So letting go of your resistance to that circumstance will starve it to death. You don’t have to compel yourself to be happy. Just realise that it is a level in the game, and you have the power to select another level and relinquish this level altogether. The moment you drop your awareness from it, it starts starving. And depending on how much hostile emotion it has, it will take that much time but unfailingly crumble away, which is the power of non-reaction. We take life too seriously, like it is all there is. We focus on what is going awry and easily ignore what is going right. Social conditioning has taught many to focus on the bad and mitigate it. But all we must do is accept the bad and withdraw our attention from it, which will wither away. But we are too focused on attempting to manipulate the reflection in the mirror rather than changing the image in our minds. Your consciousness is the only reality. While we are asleep, nothing exists for you. This world is dead to you in those hours. It doesn’t matter what happens outside because your inside is sleeping. So wake your inner being to this illusion and vigorously look for what you want. Alter your image and body to the man you want to become, and reality will begin to echo your life, flowing in that direction. Your intention is all that matters. What you choose to give awareness to will stay in your experience. So prefer better things and do not care about anything else. No reaction to life is the best way to live freely. And then, adding favourable responses to life is the optimal way to mould reality. So attach only optimistic meaning to every circumstance or accept and withdraw your attention. Life will take care of the rest.
Reality exists in the human mind and nowhere else. It is a perception of the world around us, constructed by our senses and deciphered through our brains in a way that makes sense to us. That may be because our brains have evolved specifically to make sense of the world around us or because our brain’s development depends on our environment. One well-known example of this is how babies perceive the world around them. They have a minimal view of their surroundings, and when they begin to walk, they don’t know what’s happening around them. However, they can still perceive certain things, like the difference between light and dark. As adults, we develop a more complex understanding of reality. We see things from different angles and consider all factors to picture what’s happening accurately. Another example comes from people who have mental disorders. Some people believe their illnesses are real diseases that affect their body directly, while others think their illness is fake and doesn’t exist. They may even believe that it affects everyone else but themselves.
For example (and a far-fetched example), a schizophrenic likely isn’t seeing the same reality that you are because of their mental illness. While the entirety of the population isn’t mentally ill, what goes on in our minds from the time we’re born determines how we will inevitably end up seeing reality. Opinions get formed and standards set as we grow in different cultures, settings, and beliefs around other people. Yet this concept of “reality” is something that we get taught to accept. For the most part, we get taught that reality is to be trusted, and thus we get off assuming that everyone else shares our beliefs.
It is my own belief that this concept of reality is what causes so many of the world’s issues. We’re all taught to believe that we’re the only ones grounded in reality when people begin to disagree with us because of the assumption that we were always right, which is why I appreciate logic so much. It’s straightforward to ground yourself in what is the truth by using it. Reality is, by all means, a concept in the minds of many- so I won’t say that. But the undeniable truth can always be found and is quite hard to disprove logically.
You have to realise that you create your reality which is the toughest pill to swallow for most people, as you have to own up to your life, the good and the bad. There is no other God to blame. Therefore, most people will run away from this responsibility, as it is much easier to grumble about life than to change it. Therefore, as long as you give your power to the outside world, i.e. God’s government, to your ex – you will never be able to regulate your emotions. How can you? You can’t control the world unless you take responsibility unless you acknowledge that the world is coming from within. You can’t alter the world with your ego by forcing, like a thug, a corrupt politician or a religious con artist, or forcing your love. Forsaking of ego leads to inner peace. There is no other way. The ego makes us human and makes us think that it is us against the world and makes us forcefully take what we want, and so on. You see, ego starts wars. It makes you ignore your wife or GF to manipulate the relationship. Ego is not all bad, it is a survival tool. But it is animalistic. You can’t transcend into elevated levels of consciousness unless you become conscious of this animal inside.
Animals react, not respond. Therefore with a minor inconvenience, you will react to the world negatively, not knowing that whatever you resist persists. Learning to react to things from no control is the pathway to peace. We have been given dominion over this life by the Divine, but we won’t see results as long as we are overwhelmed by our ego. Ego won’t let you know what he wants to see. It will always point out what things you lack and how unfair the world is. So the first step is not to react to life but to respond. If anything negative happens, don’t label it negative mentally. Just observe. If you feel pain, feel it fully without labelling it as good or bad. Learn not to accept every interpretation of your mind. Your mind is always basing its interpretations on incomplete data from your past. It is not reliable. You can’t change a dire circumstance by giving it all your power. It would be best to focus on what you want rather than what is evil. Then observe it without reacting. Please don’t give it any power. You see, you’re the one who accepts what your mind presents to you at any given moment. Your mind is not you, so you can reject its interpretation that the girl you want doesn’t love you. You can reject the idea that you don’t have what it takes to be rich. You can say no to a story about you being not good enough. And you can tell it the story that you want to live. You can ignore when someone doubts you by focusing on him and realising who you are. The instant you give power to the outside world is the moment you begin suffering. And the moment you commence living from within, you will begin to command and control life. Life will answer your desires and mental discipline. Just like it is responding to your current thoughts and feelings. It is a fallacy that we need to be born charming to be loved or rich to have money. It would help if you exemplified the consciousness of being rich and charming to have it in your reality. Your entire being is plastic and multiple. This is why all the mystics and new thought teachers like Neville Goddard preach that we have dominion over this reality. The moment we begin to identify with our inner being is the moment we start waking up to this dream and start to control it. But the more you identify with this ego and human conception, the more you will feel shackled. Only consciousness can control and respond, and animals can only react; your emotions, feelings, and thoughts are internal processes, and you have complete control over them. So, regulate yourself from within, and you’re suffering will become less and less as you master this, and sooner or later, nothing will shake you, and you will genuinely become unshakable
